January 2003 - BBE® Introduces BMAX Bass Preamp

BBE Sound Inc has introduced the BMAX bass preamp/processor with applications in the recording studio and on the road. Employing solid state technology, the BMAX offers a class A/B preamp section that produces the true warmth, dynamic range, punch and clarity usually associated with all-tube designs. Incorporating a full-featured BBE Sonic Maximizer processor, the BMAX combines this with a solid state quasi-parametric equalizer and optical compressor.

To maintain the highest sonic integrity, all switches, pots and connectors are connected directly to the circuit board of the BMAX. Additionally, extra-wide and double-thick traces are used throughout to ensure the best electron flow. From the 1/4 inch thick extruded aluminium front panel to the black-chrome, red-abalone topped knobs, the fit and finish of the BMAX offers a professional feel. Other features include an active, electronically balanced direct output with ground lift, military spec circuit boards, 1% metal film resistors, FX loop, plus optional footswitch for the Sonic Maximizer and compressor functions. Further additions include interactive bright switch, inputs for both passive and active pickups, balanced XLR and TRS outputs.
