Rear Cushion Leather Replacement

Return to E30 325iC Main Page

5/2/09: The rear seat needed work. Not the seat back, as that had its leather replaced by World Upholstery by the previous owner. That part always gets beat up by the sun and splits at the seam area at the top center. So it was my seat bottom that had seen better days, and the leather had shrunken up and the seams were stretched and stressed. I spent the better part of last weekend using Leatherique Rejuvenator and Prestine [sic] Clean but things just didn't get much better. The center bolster got softer, but the butt area wasn't making progress.

Shine that. I was impressed with how nice the seat back leather was, how it matched very well and the leather is original Indigo vat-dyed leather. So I called World Upholstery on Monday to see what the price was for the rear seat cushion and ordered it. Maybe next weekend I'll find out how well a first-timer can do removing the old leather and installing the new leather. I'll get to the fronts before long; they need help too.

Here we have the grand opening of the box. Ta-da!:
